Tamil Nadu Deputy CM O Panneerselvam's brother O Raja has been removed from the primary membership of the AIADMK over alleged anti-party activities, according to reports. In a joint statement, Pannerselvam and Chief Minister Edapaddi Palaniswami said Raja was removed "for having acted against the party's principles and ideologies, and for bringing disrepute to the party."
"Tamil Nadu Deputy CM O Panneerselvam's brother O Raja removed from AIADMK, for having acted against the party’s principles and ideologies, and for bringing disrepute to the party," the news agency ANI reported.

The AIADMK has asked its workers not to have any links with Raja, a former panchayat president of Periyakulam in Theni district.
There were also reports that Raja was apparently not happy with Panneerselvam over his decision to promote his son in politics. Refusing to abide by Panneerselvam's instructions, Raja contested and won elections and elected to head a milk cooperative Aavin in Madurai.
