A delegation of opposition parties on Thursday met President Ram Nath Kovind and demanded to convene Tamil Nadu state assembly immediately.
While talking to media after meeting President Kovind, CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury said they have demanded that the Tamil Nadu Governor must convene state assembly for an immediate floor test. He said,"let the assembly to decide that which party is in majority."
Congress leader Anand Sharma said that they have conveyed in writing that 21 MLAs gave letters of withdrawal of support from Tamil Nadu government.
The step has been taken after the political crisis erupted in Tamil Nadu where 21 AIADMK legislators, who are loyal to VK Sasikala, withdrew their support from the government post-merger of Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam camps.
