A four-day-old baby was declared dead by a team of doctors from Telangana's Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital on Sunday, according to some media reports. And since then there have been tensions around the hospital. It was on the cremation ground that the parents got to know that the baby was alive and was brought back from there.
According to reports, the weight of the baby girl was just 450 gms and there were many complications at the birth. There are assumptions that the private hospital did not have proper facilities to take care of the premature babies and that was the reason why the baby was referred to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital.
It is reported that around 11:30 am on Sunday, the baby was declared dead by the doctor on duty, Dr Sirajuddin. Following this, a death certificate was issued. the baby was then taken to the burial ground for the final rites. And it was only then when the parents noticed movement in baby and took the baby to the hospital.
But the team of the doctors remained firm to their point that the baby was dead. This raged the parents and relatives who then blamed the doctor for not checking the ECG properly. On the other hand, the doctors are still standing up on their statement that the baby was declared dead after examining the heartbeat and ECG. The doctors say that that the ECG was flat.
The whole case has caused tension in the hospital and people are enraged.
