Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who is rallying support for establishing a non-BJP and non-Congress alternative, on Monday met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata.

Till the time report was filed, Rao and Mamata Banerjee were holding a meeting.

Earlier this month, Rao had proposed formation of a non-Congress and non-BJP front in the country.

Sources in West Bengal and Telangana had confirmed that both the leaders had discussed about possible coalitions over the phone prior their Monday meeting.

“Banerjee had confirmed Rao to lend her support,” sources said.
