Amid buzz around early polls in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to ask for assembly dissolution on Thursday, September 6, 2018, according to reports. The dissolution of Telangana assembly might be announced at a cabinet meeting at 6:45 am on Thursday. Since the house has entirely left the decision to Rao on it, he will approach Governor ESL Narasomhan for the dissolution of the house.

While speculations had been rife that during its September 2 meeting itself the cabinet would pass a resolution to dissolve the assembly, CM Rao addressing the 'Pragathi Nivedana Sabha', the largest ever public rally in Ranga Reddy district said that he will take a decision on assembly dissolution soon.

However, the latest buzz is that CM Chandrasekhar Rao has discussed the September 6 meeting with some his senior party leaders and will address his first public meeting post assembly dissolution on September 7 at Husnabad setting the pitch for the upcoming elections in Telangana.

Though TRS leaders remain tight-lipped about the latest development so far, a senior party leader interacting a leading daily said, "I can neither confirm nor deny".

To give the speculation a further boost, Rao last week flew to Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other BJP leaders to discuss early elections in the state.

In 2014, Chandrasekhar Rao took charge as the chief minister of Telangana and as per the schedule, assembly polls in the state should take place simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also gearing up for a public meeting on either September 12 or 15, the party's state unit president K Laxman said. BJP president Amit Shah would address the meeting and is likely to sound the poll bugle in Telangana.
