Terrorists on Monday targetted a CRPF patrol party in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, they opened fire on the security forces and managed to escape from the area. Additional security forces have been rushed to sport and the area has been cordoned off. Search operations to nab the terrorists are underway.

Earlier on Sunday, three terrorists were killed in an encounter security forces in Tral in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Gulshanpora area of Tral in the south Kashmir district after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of militants there. The terrorists fired at the forces triggering an encounter resulting in death of the three militants.

According to ANI, the three were identified as Umar Fayaz Lone (Hizbul Mujahideen), Adil Bashir Mir (Hizbul Mujahideen) and Faizan Hameed Bhat (Jaish-e-Mohammed). According to police, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists.

Meanwhile, security forces have been conducting 'Operation All Out’ to root out terror outfits from the Valley. As many as 160 terrorists were killed and 102 arrested in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. Jammu and Kashmir police’s stated that 250 ultras were active in UT.

Security Arrangements have been beefed up in Jammu and Kashmir post abrogation of Article 370. Since the removal of the special status from J&K, Pakistan is trying to push militias via LoC.
