At least two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in an ongoing encounter in Konmoh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, reported news agency ANI. Around 3-4 terrorists are believed to be cornered by the security forces in the area.
After receiving specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in a residential area of Konmoh, a joint team of 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Srinagar Police has launched the cordon and search operations.
As they were closing in, the search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists opened fire. The security forces were prepared for any eventuality and retaliated. In the firing, two terrorists were gunned down while there were no immediate reports of any collateral damage.
