Trade Unions have called for a nation-wide strike on Friday. The trade unions have rejected the government's announcements on hiking the minimum wage and other measures. On Tuesday that the hike in minimum wages for non-agricultural workers from Rs 112 a day to Rs 350.

What will be closed on September 2:

-          The strike will affect the functioning of essential services such as transport and supply of power, gas and oil.

-          It will affect public and private sector enterprises, including banks and insurance companies.

-          Services of sectors including, electricity, transport, mining, defence, telecom and insurance will be affected.

-          Many autorickshaw unions have decided to go off the roads in cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru

What all will not be affected:

-          Train services will not affected as Railway employees have not indicated to join the stir.

-          School and colleges will not closed.

-          Supply of essential commodities will not be affected.

-          Emergency services will not be affected.

Unions participating in strike:

-          The Leftist trade unions - INTUC, HMS, CITU, AITUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, UTUC and LPF.

-          Central public sector undertakings like Coal India, GAIL, ONGC, NTPC, OIL, HAL and BHEL

-          The RSS-affiliated Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has pulled out of the strike
