New Delhi:

Threatening posters have appeared in various areas of Kashmir cautioning people against opening shops and schools. Posters belonging to terror outfits Hizbul Mujaheedin and Lashker-e-Taiba have been recovered, army officials said. The threats came amid tensions in Kashmir after New Delhi on August 5 announced abrogation of provisions of Article 370 and decided to bifurcate the state into Union territories - Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh - hours after Kashmir was placed under a total clampdown.

"We have registration numbers of certain private vehicles that are still plying on the roads and we issue a final warning to their owners. No schools should be opened. No woman should be seen on the road. Keep your womenfolk inside your houses," says one of the posters.

According to news agency ANI, traders have been warned by terrorists particularly in the last two weeks of August from carrying out business.

Earlier, a senior government functionary had said Central ministers will visit Jammu and Kashmir one by one to assess the situation, look into implementation of development programmes and try to interact with people in the coming days. On the release of political leaders, the functionary said the administration is taking step-by-step decisions.

"First they allowed movement of people on roads, then landline phones were restored and then mobile phones were restored in some areas. Similarly, the leaders will also be released at a convenient time," he said.

On Friday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that his country is fully prepared to tackle any misadventure by India. "The whole world should have stood with Kashmir. But today I have to say, with sadness, that when there is injustice against Muslims, then the international community, and those institutions like the UN that are to provide justice, remain silent," Khan said while addressing a gathering.

“Our army is ready that if there are any misadventures by India. But the world should know that when two countries with nuclear weapons are facing each other like this, it will not just harm the region, it will harm the world,” he said.
