Three killed, seven injured as dry-tree falls on autorickshaw in Ranchi

Three people were killed and seven others suffered serious injuries when a tree fell on the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in  Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi on Tuesday morning.

Till the time report was filed the police had failed to identify the three deceased. 

Ranchi Police confirmed the death of three commuters.

The injured were rushed to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for medical attention. 

Eyewitnesses said it was a huge tree that had decayed. They said locals had a tough time rescuing the trapped.

The locals informed the media that they had complained the local administrative office regarding the dangers posed by the decaying tree but the administration turned a deaf ear to their complaint.  

In a similar incident a 57-year-old woman lost her life after a coconut tree collapsed on her in Mumbai.
