TMC to launch BJP Bharat Chorro program from August 9: Mamata Banerjee

New Delhi:

The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Friday fired a new salvo on ruling Bhartiya Janta Party and said her party TMC will launch "BJP Bharat Chorro" movement from August 9.

She was addressing a gathering of party workers in the Martyr's Day rally near Victoria House in Esplanade area in central Kolkata.

The Martyr's Day is observed every year to remember the victims of 1993 Kolkata firing.

Meanwhile, BJP state chief Dilip Ghosh has accused the TMC of holding the rally for political gains and said, "none of the martyrs (those killed in 1993 firing) have got justice.”

“The person who shot them was an officer then and today he is a minister in the TMC. He is governing the country," Ghosh added.

The political fight between Mamata's TMC and BJP is getting intense after the recent Darjeeling unrest with TMC blaming BJP for spreading violence in the state for political gain. The BJP, however, says Mamata Banerjee's "pro minority" stand has caused the unrest in Darjeeling.
