As Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav embarked on his 'vikas rath yatra', BJP state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya too flagged off one of the four 'parivartan raths' which will start its journey on November 5 from Saharanpur.
"BJP will take out four separate parivartan yatras from different parts of the state -- Saharanpur, Jhansi, Sonebhadra and Ballia -- covering vast parts of Uttar Pradesh and reach state capital Lucknow on December 24," Maurya told reporters.
Besides Saharanpur, yatras from Jhansi, Sonbhadra and Ballia will start on November 6, 8 and 9 respectively, he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a rally in Lucknow on the culmination of these yatras.
Senior party leaders including national president Amit Shah, central ministers Rajnath Singh, Kalraj Misra and Uma Bharti will address the yatras at various destinations, he said, adding that the raths will be equipped with all modern amenities.
Exuding confidence that people of the state were fed up with BSP and Samajwadi Party and have made up their mind to vote BJP to power, he claimed his party will win over 300 seats of the total 403 in next year's Assembly elections.
