A truck driver and his helper, who were arrested after an exchange of fire between three JeM militants they were ferrying and security forces on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, had transported terrorists in the past as well, police said on Thursday.
The Three terrorists of pro-Pakistan Jaish-e-Mohmmad were killed and 12 security personnel, including three officers, injured on Thursday in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, a day after they fired on a police party here and escaped, officials said.

“Truck driver Riaz Ahmed of Pulwama district and his helper Mohmmad Iqbal of Budgam, who were arrested yesterday when the three terrorists were intercepted at Domail-Jhajjar Kotli belt on the highway on Wednesday, were being grilled,” the police said.
“As per investigation, the two had helped militants four to five times in the past,” the police said.
Police is investigating on the leads to find out their links and connections in Jammu and border areas, they said.

The truck driver and his helper had created a bunker inside the truck to hide alleged Pakistani terrorists.
Giving details, IGP Jammu S D Singh Jamwal told reporters that the JeM militants had crossed the International Border via Tarnah nallah.
