Shah Rukh Khan: 'I have lost a part of my childhood'

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was considered to be a spectacular orator and soulful poet, who could bind his audience with the threads of his words. While the nation mourns the demise of such a great politico, many Bollywood celebs shared their heartfelt tribute to Vajpayee on Twitter. Shah Rukh Khan too wrote a moving message on Twitter and Instagram about the “Poet Prime Minister of our country.”

In the touching note, Shah Rukh Khan expressed nostalgia about Vajpayee, fondly called “Baapji” in his home. He reminisced the time when his father would take him to the speeches of the former prime minister and how he had the opportunity to meet him and spend time discussing poetry. Shah Rukh Khan felt that the nation had lost a ‘father figure’ and a part of his childhood. “Personally I have lost a part of my childhood and growing up memories of learning to smile and of course poetry,” wrote the ‘Zero’ actor.

Bollywood Badshah shared a poem, written by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and recited by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan himself.
