Two dead, four injured after part of under-construction building collapses in Bengaluru's Yeswanthpur

Two dead, four injured after part of under-construction building collapses in Bengaluru's Yeswanthpur

A two-storey under construction building collapsed in Bangalore's Yeswanthpur on Friday morning, killing two people and leaving at least four others injured. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. 

The deceased, both in their mid-twenties, have been identified as Rakesh from Bihar and Rahul from West Bengal.

The incident took place around 4 am when the third floor of an under-construction multi-level car parking structure in APMC premise at RMC Yard near Yeshwantpur collapsed. 

According to reports, a case has been registered under IPC section 304-A and the builder has been booked for criminal negligence causing deaths.

This is not the first time when an under construction building has collapsed in Bengaluru. Earlier, 14 peopled were killed when a fore-storey building collapsed in Karnataka's Dharwad. 

Over 300 personnel including National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), state fire and emergency forces were on the ground to provide assistance to relief operations. 

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had ordered a magisterial inquiry into the building collapse. Later, police arrested the building's design engineer Vivek Pawar.
