Security forces eliminated two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists in an encounter that took place in Pulwama district of South Kashmir. It is to be noted that the gun battle which began on Monday evening in Drabgam village, culminated on Tuesday.
Talking to the news agency ANI, the Kashmir police said, “One more militant was killed on Tuesday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, taking the toll to two.” “Both terrorists were locals. A search operation was still ongoing this morning,” the police added.
The deceased terrorists were identified as Irfan Naira and Irfan Rather. Irfan Naira, an ‘A’ category terrorist, was active in Kashmir since 2016. He was a close associate of Riyaz Naikoo. On the other hand, Irfan Rather was active in Kashmir since 2017. The two terrorists have previously attacked Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir police patrol parties.
On late Monday evening, the police and security forces defused an improvised explosive device (IED) in Gasigund of Anantnag district.
On Novmber 12, a terrorist was killed in the Gund area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Kulan area of the central Kashmir district in the morning following inputs about the presence of terrorists. During the search, the hiding terrorists fired upon the security forces. In retaliation, security forces eliminated one terrorist. An army soldier was also injured and rushed to a medical facility for treatment.

Last month, Abdul Hamid Lelhari, Al-Qaeda Kashmir unit chief and Zakir Musa's successor along with two other terrorists, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag district.
