Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackery will prove his majority during the floor test in Maharashtra Assembly on November 29. Interestingly, the resort politics is not over yet. Sources told News Nation that all Shiv Sena MLAs will remain in hotels till the floor test. Thackery will take oath at a ceremony on November 28. On Wednesday, all 288 newly-elected MLAs of the Maharashtra Assembly finally took oath. There are reports that apart from Thackeray 15 Shiv Sena ministers will also take oath. So far, the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress combine has not revealed any names of the ministers. Sources say that Thackeray will have two deputies, one from the NCP and one from the Congress.

The frantic drama of the Maharashtra politics took a sharp turn when the Supreme Court ordered Devendra Fadnavis government to face floor test. After intense back-channel diplomacy, both Fadnavis and NCP rebel leader Ajit Pawar resigned from their posts citing lack of magic numbers. On Wednesday, Thackeray along with his wife met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in morning. His son Aaditya Thackeray was seen meeting NCP’s Supriya Sule.

Devendra Fadnavis resigned as CM on Tuesday, barely 80 hours after taking oath for the second time, the move necessitated by his deputy Ajit Pawar's resignation citing "personal reasons".Fadnavis was sworn in on November 23 in an early morning hush hush ceremony, with the support of Ajit Pawar, who then headed the 54-member NCP legislature party. The NCP removed Ajit Pawar as its legislature party leader the same day after he took oath as the deputy chief minister of the state.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said, apparently for the first time, that he never promised chief ministerial post to the Shiv Sena, the oldest ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party. I want to clearly put it on record that we had never given any assurances for CM post to Shiv Sena. Our CM was performing well, was doing good work and it was only logical for him to come back," Shah said while speak at an event organised by a news channel.

Shah also said no one raised an objection when Devendra Fadnavis was promoted as the chief ministerial candidate during the entire election campaign. “The entire election campaigning promoted him as the CM candidate, and no one ever questioned it. We won about 70 per cent seats on which we fought, and Shiv Sena won on 42 per cent seats it fought on," he said.

The Home Minister emphasised that we went to the polls in partnership with Shiv Sena and we shared our votes and got a clear majority together. "This mandate was for the sitting CM Devendra Fadnavis. The people of India know the value of stability. Thus, most decisions come in the favour of stable Govts. The result of Maharashtra, too, was for a stable government," he said.
