UGC declares 23 universities, 279 institutions as ‘fake’ across the nation

As per University Grant Commission, these colleges and universities have no authority to issue certificates as they have not taken permission for the same. It says that these institutions do not match the parameters.

UGC declares 23 universities, 279 institutions as ‘fake’ across the nation

In an eye-opening revelation, the University Grant Commission rolled out a list declaring as many as 23 universities and 279 institutes across the nation as ‘fake’ while the national capital, Delhi tops the chart with 66 colleges.

As per University Grant Commission, these colleges and universities have no authority to issue certificates as they have not taken permission for the same. The commission said that these institutions do not match the parameters.

The list of these universities is available on the websites of the UGC and AICTE which are www.ugc.ac.in and www.aicte-india.org. The released list showed that besides Delhi, several institutions of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra also mentioned under the category.
