Union food minister Ram Vilas Paswan undergoes successful heart surgery at London hospital

Union food minister and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Thursday underwent a successful heart surgery at London's Royal Brompton Hospital.

In a successful surgery, the minister was operated upon to fix a leaky heart valve by fitting a device.

"The operation was successful. He is out of ICU now. He is recovering," PTI quoted a family member of the 70-year-old LJP chief.

The family member added that his health condition is fine now and he will stay in London till June 14.

Paswan is on leave till June 14. In his absense, the Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has been given the additional charge of his ministry.
This is the second time Paswan underent a heart surgery.
