Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Law and Justice and Ministry of Information Technology, targeted the Congress party over the latter’s demand for convening the Winter Session of the Parliament.

He said, “Whenever there was a discussion on Demonetisation and the moment Congress realized that we are showing facts after facts which made Congress party uncomfortable, they walked out of Parliament.”

He added, ”Sansad ki garima ke prati Congress ke badhte prem ko dekhar ashcharya ho raha hai, hum Congress se jaan na chahte hain ki Rahul Gandhi kitne samay sansad mein rehte hain (It is really surprising to see that Congress is so keen to uphold the sanctity of the Parliament. We want to know from Congress for how many sessions Rahul Gandhi has been present in the House).

Prasad was replying to Congress’s claim that the Modi government is scared of convening the Winter Session of Parliament because of Gujarat polls. The party had also appealed to President Ram Nath Kovind to take notice of this and ask the government to convene the session.
