Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ‘Jan Aakrosh’ rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Ground.
Addressing a large gathering, mostly Congress workers, Rahul slammed the Prime Minister for not delivering on his 2014 elections promises.
The Congress president accused the Modi government of spreading lies and hatred in the country.
In the last four years, he said that the Modi government had hurt the backbone of the informal sector and failed to provide jobs to youth.
The Gandhi scion blew the poll bugle for the next year’s Lok Sabha elections and said that after surpassing expectations in Gujarat elections, Congress party will emerge victorious in 2019 general elections.
Here are Rahul Gandhi’s top quotes from Jan Aakrosh Rally:
Modi not delivering on promises: Wherever I go, I ask people if you are happy, and the response I get is we are angry at the government. This is because wherever the PM goes he makes promises, but does not deliver.
Takes a dig at Modi over corruption: PM Modi goes to Karnataka and talks about corruption while on the stage he is being accompanied by his CM candidate Yeddyurappa who was jailed for corruption.
Congress, a party committed for farmers: The farmers of this country cannot live without the Congress party, if Congress had not taken a stand Narendra Modi would have snatched all their lands.
Modi government did nothing in last four years: PM Modi had said that Congress did nothing in 70 years and demanded 60 months for change. I will tell you what he has done in 60 months, he has hurt the backbone of the informal sector, could not take a stand in front of China, no jobs to youth. Congress party is like the water which has nurtured the foundation of the country.
Congress will win 2019 Lok Sabha elections: After surpassing expectations in Gujarat elections, Congress will win upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Congress will emerge victorious in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Unlike BJP, Congress for Satya not Satta: We are standing with the truth while Narendra Modi is hiding behind lies. The Congress party fights for ‘Satya’ (Truth) and not Satta (power).
Attacks Modi over women safety: PM Modi says “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”. Ironically, the members of his own party are assaulting women. A BJP lawmaker from Uttar Pradesh was involved in the Unnao rape case.
No freedom of speech in BJP: In Congress, there is freedom to speak your minds, express your thoughts and ideas, while in BJP the thoughts of just Pm Modi and Amit Shah matters.
