New Delhi:

The visuals of Ladakh stone-pelting incident have surfaced through unverified sources. The video shows heavy number of troops from both sides engaged in scuffle and stone-pelting in white background of what seems like Ladakh region. News Nation has not been able to get an official verification of the video yet.

The ‘incident’ allegedly took place on Independence Day, when a number of Chinese troops entered Indian Territory and started stone-pelting. The Ministry of External Affairs on Friday confirmed that there was an incident between two forces on August 15. However, refused to say whether stones or rods were involved or not.

The pelting of stones took place when the two sides were retreating after a face-off at Finger Four and Finger Five near Pangong Lake on August 15. The standoffs lasted half-an-hour each.

The scuffle at Finger Four took place at 6 AM, and the one at Finger Five at 7.30 AM. The two sides took positions and the situation was defused by 9 AM, officials sources told The Hindu.

A day after the incident, the two sides held a flag meeting at the Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) point at Chushul in eastern Ladakh.

India and China has been at cross roads due to ongoing dispute over Doklam region in Bhutan, which communist government in Beijing claims to be its own, while New Delhi maintains that the land belongs to Bhutan in accordance with last agreement.
