The Bharatiya Janta Party has requested for deployment of women police personnel for identifying the voters ID cards of burqa-clad women voters in the sixth and seventh phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
In a complaint registered with the election commission, the party stated that women voters wearing Burqas come out in big numbers to vote in the UP Assembly elections.
It hence becomes imperative for deploying women police personnel so as keep a sanity check on their genuineness of their voting identity.This measure shall help in the proper identification of voter's ID card and help in curtailing the possibility of voters with fake voting ID's.

BJP has requested for deployment of paramilitary forces in the sensitive polling booths falling in the Mau and Balia legislative assembly constituencies.
The seven-phased elections began in the state on February 11 and will conclude on March 8. The counting of votes and the announcement of the results is scheduled for March 11.
