UP ATS arrests IS terror suspect Abu Zaid from Mumbai airport

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad on Sunday arrested Islamic State (IS) terror suspect Abu Zaid from the Mumbai airport. Abu Zaid was brought to Lucknow from Mumbai. He was operating the network from Dubai.

ADG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar informed that Zaid was brought to Lucknow from Mumbai on transit remand. He was the ideologue of his group, he said.

“We have brought the terror suspect on transit remand to Lucknow from Mumbai. He was the ideologue of his group,” Kumar said.

Abu Zahid was a native of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

It is said that he was in contact with other operatives who were held from Bijnor and other parts of Western Uttar Pradesh.
