Despite tall claims made by Uttar Pradesh government, the state is still facing challenge over deteriorating law and order. In a shocking incident, three motorcycle-borne assailants threw acid on a 20-year-old girl near Bhatvalia crossing, police informed on Monday.
A police official told that the girl, a resident of Amava village, came to an institute to enquire about a computer course. As she was returning, three persons riding on two motorcycles threw acid on her, he said.
SP Rajiv Mehrotra met the girl personally, and informed that the victim has named three persons as she had already registered a molestation case against them last year.
The SP said that a case has been registered in the matter and stern action will be taken against the guilty.
The girl had 25 per cent burn injuries and was rushed to the district hospital. The men have been taken into custody who belong to victim’s village, police said.
