Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Rahul Bhatnagar on Friday issued stern directives to all principal secretaries and head of departments to chalk out a strategy within a week and initiate the work aiming to make Uttar Pradesh roads pot-hole free.
The move comes after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced during Gorakhpur visit that all roads will be made pot-holes free and had set June 15 as deadline for the task.
In an official press statement, Bhatnagar informed the Uttar Pradesh government has already released Rs 282 crore out of expected amount Rs 3406 crore to Public Welfare Department (PWD) make 53,615 kilometers road pot-hole free in the state.

He said the government has asked the PWD department to cover the lanes and service lanes also and make them pot-hole free.
Bhatanagar took a meeting of officials on Friday and gave important directives to senior officials.
He asked that the department heads must ensure that the deadlines would be met and if the officials fail to do so, the head of the departments would fix their accountability and take stern action for their dereliction in duties.
