UP Election Results 2017: Akhilesh's alliance partner Rahul Gandhi's life-size cut-out at SP office disappears, Mulayam replaces him

Akhilesh Yadav’s alliance partner Rahul Gandhi’s life-size cut-out which was placed alongside the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister at Samajwadi Party’s office in Lucknow has disappeared overnight.

Guess who replaced him? Akhilesh’s 77-year-old father and founder of the party – Mulayam Singh Yadav.

One of the reasons for the Akhilesh and Mulayam war was the former’s insistence on allying with the Congress. This rift had put the party dangerously close to splitting ahead of the elections in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress and SP entered into alliance and Akhilesh and Rahul were seen in some public meetings.

The slogans on their alliance such as “UP Ko Ye Sath Pasand Hai” have also disappeared from the Samajwadi Party office.
