UP Election Results 2017: Samajwadi Party workers perform havan for Akhilesh Yadav

Ahead of the game-changing results of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party workers on Saturday performed a havan just before the counting began as they prayed for the victory of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The havan was held near CM Akhilesh’s residence in Lucknow. Akhilesh is hoping to defy exit poll predictions that predicted a BJP win.

Workers were seen wearing the trademark red caps at the havan and pictures of Akhilesh and his wife Dimple Yadav were seen in the backdrop.

BJP candidate from Lucknow Cantt Rita Bahuguna Joshi also offered prayers at Hazratganj's Hanuman Temple early on Saturday morning.
