Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has launched Party Manifesto for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The manifesto is a mix bag of old and new schemes with focus on skill development, infrastructure and health.
Here are the key highlights for the Samajwadi Party manifesto:
Old schemes to be strengthened: Uttar Pradesh’s incumbent chief minister said that his government has not only fulfilled all promises made in their 2012 manifesto but has also done some additional work as required.
Some old schemes Akhilesh promised to strengthen in the next term if elected are:
- Free laptops for school students
- Samajwadi Pension Yojana – for senior citizens and widowed women
- Ambulance services – especially for pregnant women
- Metro network – Expanding the Lucknow Metro network, additional projects to be introduced in Agra, Varanasi, Meerut and Kanpur
New schemes offered in Samajwadi party manifesto for UP Polls
For senior citizens: Additional pension for elderly and women, old age homes
For nutrition and health: Pressure cooker for poor women – linked with nutritional schemes; Free food grains for poor families; centres for serious diseases; air ambulance for Lucknow airport; 1 Litre ghee for school students to end nutritional problems
For minorities: Educational and development schemes, programmes for religious freedom
For ending unemployment: Skill development programmes, vocational training centres along the Express ways, working women hostels, concession for women in buses, subsidised mid-day meal for labourers
For ending corruption: End of inspector raj, single window online system
For developing infrastructure: New highways, metro for other cities, electricity connectivity for all villages; stable solution to rapidly growing cities, green cities
For Farmers: Schemes for birds, animal ambulance for farmed animals
