Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a BJP rally in Lukcnow on Monday, his first in the Uttar Pradesh capital since the November 8 demonetisation move.
The Prime Minister is likely to focus on demonetisation and will bat for cashless transaction. Modi is also likely to make some big announcements to the public on the occasion of New Year.
According to reports, Modi will reach Amausi Airport at about 1.50pm and will reach the rally venue by 2pm. Modi is expected to stay there for about an hour.
The rally comes amidst the ongoing tussle within the ruling Samajwadi Party that saw chief minister Akhilesh Yadav unseating his father as party's national president in an apparent coup ahead of the crucial assembly elections.
Massive security arrangements have been made for the rally which will be attended by senior BJP leaders, MPs and MLAs.
