UP government removes two law officers

The Uttar Pradesh government has removed two senior law officers, including Additional Advocate General (AAG) Gaurav Bhatia, who is a known face of Samajwadi Party in TV debates.

“Bhatia and Reena Singh, state government’s empanelled officials in the Supreme Court have been removed from their posts,” an order dated March 22, issued by Special Secretary Law) Amarjeet Tripathi said.

The order dated March 22 was released to the press today.

No reason was given for the duo’s removal.

Bhatia, who is the son of late Virendra Bhatia, former state Advocate General, also holds the charge of national president of SP ‘Adhivakta Sabha’.

While Singh was not available for comments, Bhatia on Facebook, said, “I have resigned from the post of AAG, UP and resignation was sent to the Hon’ble CM. I thank everyone for their support @yadavakhilesh.”
