New Delhi:

Bijnor is known for its huge sugarcane fields and other crops as it's based near the river Ganga. However, farmers, especially those involved in sugarcane farming in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh face huge problems.  Farmers residing in the village Devidaswala (near Bijnor) claimed that no government ever pays heed to their problems.

Farmers claim that the rates of sugarcane have grown very slowly and they receive the payment in installments. Most of the farmers criticized politicians as hypocrites who treat them as vote banks.

A lot of farmers stressed that there is no proper provision for insurance on crops and they don't get any pension too. There is no bridge on the Ganga river which villagers and farmers can cross and they have to risk their lives for this purpose. Even tractors have to be passed with the help of boats. There are not even enough doctors at government hospitals.

Illegal mining is also a huge issue at Bijnor. Even the railway line connecting Bijnor and Kotdwar has been dug down due to illegal mining. The law and order situation is also very poor in the region.
