New Delhi:
The crisis in Gorakhpur's Baba Raghav Das (B.R.D.) Medical College continues as seven children lost their lives due to encephalitis in last 48 hours.
The infamous hospital is already under scanner for deaths of over 70 infants in a week in the month of July.
It is alleged that the children died due to the lack of liquid oxygen in the hospital. The Yogi Adityanath government received flak from the Opposition over the same.
Earlier in the day, “Dr. Rajiv Mishra and his wife, Dr. Purnima Shukla, who are named in an FIR lodged by the UP government, were arrested from Kanpur. They are being taken to Gorakphur,” IG, Public Grievances, Vijay Singh Meena said.
Mishra was suspended as principal of BRD Medical College on August 12 after the deaths, which occurred over a span of five days, were reported. He resigned the same day.
