A woman in her early twenties was allegedly gang raped by her brother, father and two uncles, who believed she disgraced the family honour by eloping with a boy of a different commuity, in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar.
Uttar Pradesh Police officials have claimed to arrest all the four accused involved in the rape case. Police registered an FIR against the four accused on the directives of the Allahabad High Court.
Police added that the victim in her complaint also mentioned that her family members threatened her of dire consequences if she informed the incident to anyone. She was also confined in her house for several days.
A senior police officer of Muzaffarnagar said, “The incident occurred in Dhaneda village few kilometers away from the city.”
He added, “The victim told the police that the four accused while raping her repeatedly said that she is being punished for disgracing the honour of the family by eloping with boy of another caste.”
