Saharanpur :
A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur on Monday allegedly attempted suicide after he was allegedly thrashed and forced to drink urine after being accused of keeping illicit relationship by a panchayat.
A senior officer of Uttar Pradesh Police said that they are investigating the matter and have lodged an FIR under relevant IPC sections.
“A panchayat in Indira Colony found him guilty of keeping an illicit relationship with a girl. The members of the local panchayat forced him to drink urine in public, “ said a police officer of Saharanpur.
The officer further added that the boy in his statement told them that he had no idea why he was thrashed, “He told us that he is not into any illicit relationship with any girl,” added the officer.

“The youth also told us that he was first thrashed in public and made to drink urine. He added that he was completely depressed due to incident which forced him to attempt suicide by consuming poison,” added the police
