New Delhi:
Prisoners on Sunday protested inside Farrukhabad Jail demanding better amenities, however, the event took a violent turn in which many officers were injured including Jail Superintendent.
Some of the prisoners got atop Jail barracks and started throwing stones at the police officials.
The entire episode started when a prisoner in the jail fell ill. The reason behind his disease was believed to be poor quality food that is served inside the jail.
More force was called in immediately and later the prisoners agreed to hold talks after the jail doctor was suspended. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, the entire district’s police have been put on duty in the jail.
