Former CM Vasundhara Raje, son Dushyant Singh test negative for coronavirus

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and his son Dushyant Singh have been tested negative for coronavirus. However, they both will continue to be in isolation for 15 days as a preventive measure. They went into isolation on Friday after attending a party with Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor, who was found positive for COVID-19. “After conducting a #Covid19 test, I’m happy to inform you that the results came back negative. However, as a preventive measure, my son and I will continue to be in isolation for 15 days,” Vasundhara tweeted.

“A lot of you checked up on me and I appreciate your concern. I want to thank you for your prayers & good wishes. They are what keep me going!” she added.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh has police has registered an FIR against singer Kanika Kapoor, who has been tested positive for deadly coronavirus, for concealing facts and putting the public in danger. The development comes after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked officials to lodge an FIR against the Bollywood singer. The government has also asked the Lucknow administration to identify the parties attended by Kapoor.       

"A probe has been ordered to ascertain all parties attended by Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor. District Magistrate Lucknow has been asked to probe and submit a report within 24 hours," Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi said.

"Directives have also been issued to identify those who attend the party," an official release issued here said.

Meanwhile, Kapoor on Friday announced that she has tested positive for COVID-19, setting off a chain reaction with political leaders like Vasundhara Raje, her MP son Dushyant Singh and parliamentarians Derek O'Brien and Anupriya Patel, who came in contact with her directly or indirectly, going into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure.
