Veteran actor Vinod Khanna's mortal remains have been set on pyre on Thursday. He passed away in a Mumbai hospital reportedly due to cancer. He was 70. Khanna was hospitalized after he complained of "severe dehydration" and was suffering from Bladder Cancer.
Vinod Khanna was reportedly battling with cancer for many years. Vinod Khanna is survived by his wife Kavita Khanna and sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi, and daughter Shraddha. Vinod Khanna was married to Geetanjali before marrying Kavita. He divorced Geetanjali and then got married to Kavita.

Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital said Vinod Khanna breathed his last at 11.20 AM on Thursday due to advanced bladder carcinoma. The actor worked in over 100 Bollywood films. An active politician, he was Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab.
The veteran actor's mortal remains have been brought from hospital to his residence in Mumbai.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Vinod Khanna was one of the most sought after film stars. He started his career with negative and small roles but in no time, he started getting lead roles in several films.
In a coincidence, Vinod Khanna's 'Qurbaani' co-star Feeroz Khan too breathed his last on the same day on Apr 27, 2009.
In 1968, Vinod Khanna made his debut in films with Mann Ka Meet. In no time he became a star after his performance in movies like Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Imtihaan, Inkaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Lahu ke Do Rang, Qurbani, Dayavaan and Jurm.
The actor got Filmfare award for Haath Ki Safaai in the best supporting actor category. He was honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. In 2007, he again received the lifetime achievement award at the Zee Cine Awards.

He took a break from films in 1982 and joined his guru Osho Rajneesh at his ashram. During that period, he gave up work altogether. After taking a long 5-year break from work, he again made a comeback in films and gave two superhits Insaaf and Satyamev Jayate.
Even after being into politics, Vinod Khanna worked in some latest Bollywood films including Dabangg, Players, Dabangg 2 and Dilwale.
In late 2016 and early 2017, he was in news for his detoriating health.
A picture of Vinod Khanna with his family in the hospital had went viral on social media recently. In the picture, the actor looked very pale and a major change was noticed.
