One of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Paratrooper has been injured due to a hard landing caused by a faulty parachute at the display at Swarnim Park in Gujarat capital, Gandhinagar.

At the inaugural ceremony of Vibrant Gujarat Summit on Monday, The paratrooper from IAF Aakash Ganga team was injured when the canopy of the parachute collapsed at low level due to wind shear resulting in a high rate of descent in the terminal phase of flight.

Medical team arrived on the spot immediately and the injured paratrooper has been rushed to medical center for further care.

The paratrooper suffered a sprain in the leg due to the heavy impact on the ground. He was immediately attended to and was evacuated by the paramedics of the IAF present at the venue. He is out of danger with no serious damage of concern.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit which began from January 9 will see about 12 countries from around the world participating in different events which aims to open a dialogue between participating nations in the field of business and trade.
