Chaos broke out at an event organised against the Citizensip (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Thursday after a student activist, Amulya, detained for raising “Pakistan Zindabad” thrice in her inaugural speech. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owasi was also present at the event. In some of the videos, which are available on social media, the student activist is seen holding a microphone and shouting the slogan thrice. Soon the organisers and the police snatched the mike away from her hand.

Soon Owaisi walked up the stage and condemned the incident. The event was organised by the Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaai Federation on Thursday.

"Wait till I continue. There is a difference when I shouted 'Pakistan Zindabad' and 'Hindustan Zindabad'..." she said even as the mike was snatched away.

"Neither me nor the organisers here agree with this. We do not stand by what she has said. I do not know why the organisers have entertained someone like her. Our fight is completely directed at saving the Country," Owaisi clarified.

“I was going for the maghrib (sunset prayers) when I heard she was raising this slogan. I couldn’t resist myself. I ran up to the stage. If she were not a girl… Now, the BJP got an opportunity. They will now allege that the slogan was raised in Owaisi’s rally,” added Owaisi.

BBMP corporator Imran Pasha also said he does not stand by Amulya's views.

"We did not even invite this girl to participate in the event. She came here uninvited. We will ask the police to take action against her. This is a planted idea to ruin today's event," he claimed.
