Video of cop molesting girls at fest goes viral; probe ordered

A video clip purportedly showing cop indecently touching and groping women has gone viral on social media.

Taking congnizance of the report, the city police has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Around a minute-long video clip captured by an unidentified person shows the accused policeman ‘groping and indecently touching’ girls and women while walking at the Kankaria Carnival held in the last week of December.

Kankaria is popular week long extravaganza celebrated around Kankaria lake premises in the city, where cultural, art and social events are organised.

The face of the accused is not clear in the video; the police department is currently probing the cops deployed at the venue on the concerned date.

The video has gone viral on social media platforms like Whatsapp and Facebook.
