Earlier a photo of the Bollywood star in a frail heallth condition had gone viral online and sparked rumours of him suffering from bladder cancer.

According to reports, Akshaye opened up about his father’s recovery. “Dad is doing better,” the Dil Chahta Hai actor told the online publication.

The 70-year-old actor’s son Rahul Khanna said in a statement that Khanna’s condition was quickly brought under control following hospitalisation.

“He is doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he has been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in”, he said.

Vinod Khanna was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation hospital on Friday with severe dehydration. He is under the care of our doctors and has responded positively to the treatment and is now stable. His family thanks his well wishers for the good wishes and requests to respect their privacy.

Vinod Khanna who was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s 2015 film Dilwale was not in the best of health and the viral pics of ill Vinod Khanna which made rounds on the social media confused everybody. The confusion reached to such an extent that Meghalaya’s BJP branch observed two minutes silence “in memory” of the actor-politician without even verifying the news.
