A meeting of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) high-powered committee of saints is set to meet on Friday (today) to decide the chalk out the future course of action on the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the acting chief of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas will chair the meeting and nearly 40 saints, including former MP Ram Vilas Vedanti, Kamalnayan Das, Kanhaiya Das, Suresh Das are expected to attend the meeting.

Earlier, VHP’s international working president Alok Kumar had said that all options are open to pursue the construction of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya, including a mass campaign.

“All options are open before us, including reviving the campaign for construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya,” Kumar had said.

A recommendation to the government to bring a new law in Parliament for the construction of the Ram Temple is among one of the options which the VHP is considering, Kumar said, adding that Modi government is one of “Ram Bhakts” and he has no doubts about their intentions.

“We are expecting 80 saints at high powered committee meeting and present the national scenario on Ram Janmabhoomi. We want to seek the guidance of saints for future course of action in taking forward the Ram Mandir mission,” Alok Kumar had told News 18.

On September 27, the Supreme Court had declined to refer the 1994 Ismail Faruqui to a larger five-judge constitution bench. The apex court had stated that the civil suit on the much controversial land dispute will be heard by a three-judge, new constituted bench on October 29.
