Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday criticised Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for his remarks.

Sharing his views through a video on social media, Kejriwal said, “I strongly condemn what Rahul Gandhi said about our jawans, this is a matter in which we all need to stand united. Such words (dalali) should not have been used by Rahul Gandhi. These are the times for us unite & stand along army.”

Incidentally, Kejriwal himself was recently under fire for demanding video proof of surgical strike through a video message to PM Modi. Later he claimed that the controversy was baseless as he had sent the message to congratulate PM Modi and show his solidarity instead of raising questions.

Joining the bandwagon flaking Rahul, senior lawyer and Rajya Sabha MP Swamy said, “Rahul Gandhi either has had no education or should get a mental check-up done for using these words against the PM.”

Will not support use of Indian army in posters, tweets Rahul Gandhi

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday reiterated his support for surgical strikes through a post on social media site. However, he added that he will not support use of Indian army in posters.

“I fully support the surgical strikes and I have said so unequivocally, but I will not support using.. the Indian Army in political posters and propaganda all across the country,” he tweeted through his official handle @OfficeofRG.

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi faced severe flak from BJP over his ‘Dalali’ jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP called his remarks ‘a new low in Indian politics’ and said he was speaking in ‘frustration’ as the Prime Minister was drawing ‘praise’ after he gave nod to the army to carry out the surgical strikes.

Addressing a public meeting in the national capital on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi had said “jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. Unki aap dalali kar rahe ho. You (Modi) are hiding behind the blood of soldiers who carried out the surgical strikes for India. You are exploiting their sacrifices.”
