A video is going viral on social media showing a Kashmiri youth indulging in a precarious daredevil stunt.
The video shows the man, donning a traditional Kashmiri cloak, lying prostrate, face down in the middle of a railway track while someone, who is also not identified, is recording the sequence on a camera.
The cameraperson tilts and pans towards a train that is approaching the man at a high speed even as he keeps lying down till the train reaches him and passes over him completely.
After the train passes by he gets up in a celebratory, triumphant mood.
The undated video which surfaced on Tuesday evening has set alarm bells ringing in the Valley and elsewhere with demands being raised that authorities identify and trace the people involved and take strict action against them before this becomes a trend with youngsters.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah even reacted with a tweet calling it a stupid act.
There is something drastically wrong with this sort of adventure seeking. I can’t believe the stupidity of these young men. pic.twitter.com/83lLWanozR
