‘Hard line on nationalists, soft line on terrorists is policy of Cong'

Union Urban Development & Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday backed Major Leetul Gogoi, saying that the latter took good decision and saved lives of people.

In an exclusive interview with News Nation’s Ajay Kumar, Naidu attacked Congress party for its soft policy on terrorism. He said, “Hard line on nationalists, soft line on terrorists that has been the policy of the Congress party and the communist party.” He said these leaders are doing the same what they did in past.

On the question of pressing food habit, he said th egovernment has not pressurised anyone and itis people's choice. 

Reacting on Asaduddin Owaisi’s jibe on Triple Talaq, he said, “Who is Owaisi. In 29 nations, Triple Talaq is banned. There are a few leaders who do not want good thing to happen.”

Earlier, the minister had said that the Centre would bring in a legislation to stop the triple talaq, if necessary, “but after allowing the Muslim community to reach a positive conclusion following internal deliberations,” said Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu.
“The government has made the stand very clear saying that we want this (triple talaq) to end.”
