Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called Pakistan the mother-ship of terrorism while addressing restircted meeting during ongoing 8th BRICS summit in Goa.
Welcoming the global leaders at the meeting, PM Modi said, ''BRICS nations have been a voice for peace, reform, reason and purposeful action," and termed terrorism as the most serious threat, "most serious direct threat to our eco prosperity is terrorism; Tragically, its mother-ship is a country in India's neighborhood."
Meanwhile, Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi arrived for BIMSTEC in Goa on Sunday morning. The eighth edition of BRICS summit started in Goa on Sunday. Ahead of the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held two bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Sri Lanka and Bhutan before the summit started.
On day 1, Prime Minister Modi inked historic defence deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin for acquisition of four stealth frigates, S-400 anti-aircraft missile system along with deal for indigenous development of Kamov 226T helicopters.

PM Modi also met with Chinese premier Xi Jingping and discussed the issues of Masood Azhar and India’s NSG bid blocked by China.

At the end of the day, world leaders donned the colours of Indian Prime Minister by wearing his signature style cotton jackets for the photo-op ahead of the summit.
