BJP Govt's Day 1: UP CM Yogi Adityanath meets Governor, likely to distribute portfolios soon

Newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath is meeting senior officials of the state ministries. Later at 5 PM, Adityanath will also meet the Governor.

Yogi Adityanath will also enter his new residence at 5 Kalidas Marg in Lucknow. He will enter government residence during an auspicious time. Seven priests have performed prayers at the new residence.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Hindutva mascot Yogi Adityanath took the charge of Uttar Pradesh government with an iron fist on Monday. His first day in office was marked by a series of strict actions and tough directives.

CM Adityanath to go to Delhi on Tuesday. Likley to discuss ministerial posts for MLAs. Will distribute portfolio after return.

Adityanath may also resign from his Lok Sabha membership. UP chief Keshav Prasad maurya may also resign from his post under one man one post policy.

Uttar Pradesh DGP and PS Home held a press conference with all SSPs and DMs at 5:30 PM on Monday via video conferencing. Follwoing instructions were given out during the conference to maintain law and order in districts and zones; 

- Tap on crime and criminals 
- Action against organised crime and gangs 
- Full stop on crime against women 
- Immediate action against culprits of crime against women 
- Priority to solving people's problems 
- Better protection to businessmen and traders
- Ensuring communal peace and tolerance in society

In first official meeting, Gorakhpur MP gave a series of orders that are likely to set precident for a fair and inclusive BJP-rule in the state for next five years. 

As one of the first orders of the business, CM Yogi Adityanath dealt with the incident of BSP leader's murder in Allahabad on Sunday night.

Official sources said Adityanath expressed concern over the incident and stressed that restoring law and order was the top priority of his government.

60-year-old BSP leader Mohd Shami was on Sunday night gunned down by assailants close to his residence in Mauaima police station area, 40 km from Allahabad. The meeting, sources said, was focused on fulfilling promises mentioned in BJP's 'sankalp patra'.
