New Delhi:
A video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi declining a sprawling sofa and opting to sit on a chair along with others at an event in Russia is going viral. The video was posted by Railways Minister Piyush Goyal who hailed it as yet another example of PM Modi's simplicity.
The video shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi being welcomed by officials at the photo session during his two-day visit to Russia. He is guided to a sprawling sofa kept specially for him with chair beside and behind it. The Prime Minister seems to tell officials that he would prefer to sit like the other on chair. Following this, the officials replace the sofa with another simple chair. Modi then takes his place for the picture.
Railways Minister Piyush Goyal posted the video of the incident, "PM Narendra Modi's simplicity was seen today as he got the special arrangement for him removed and opted to sit on a chair along with others in Russia."
