A video footage has surfaced in which former deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka KS Eshwarappa is seen giving tips to party workers on how to fool voters to gain support in elections.
In the video, Eshwarappa asked workers to lie to voters if necessary to win their support at a meeting held in Koppal region of Karnataka.
On this incident, the Congress lashed out at the BJP leader, saying his tips to the worker is a reflection of BJP political strategy. Dinesh Gundu Rao, Congress working president said that “the statements by Eshwarappa are a reflection of the BJP’s political strategy and culture. They are spreading lies through their campaigns around the state and urging party workers to follow their actions.”

"We need to tell the people about the achievements of the BJP- what we will do for minorities, Dalits, women, and elderly when we come to power in Karnataka. We should never say no, remember we are politicians, we should never say we don't know, just lie! People should never wonder what kind of a politician are you with no knowledge of things," said Eshwarappa in a video.
"After you go home if you think Manmohan Singh did good work or Siddaramaiah is doing well, you can resign from the BJP and sit at home. Do not be a part of the BJP," he further added.
However, Eshwarappa refuted to comment anything on the video. He was the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka in the BJP government headed by Jagadish Shettar from 2012 to 2013. He is currently serving as the Leader of opposition.
